Vecco Group was founded by Tom Northcott in 2012 as he searched through historic government public records looking for opportunities. Vecco Group went on to conduct significant greenfield exploration programs across 2 large scale projects in North West Queensland, Australia to discover Queensland’s highest grade vanadium deposit.
Vanadium is a base metal used in the steel production process to strengthen steel providing for double the strength and half the weight.
The upside and enormous future opportunity for the commodity is in vanadium batteries which fill the gap between lithium batteries which have a battery life of 6-7 years as opposed to vanadium flow batteries which operate on a 25 year battery life and critically have industrial grade charge with no risk of fire.
Vecco Group is developing the Debella Vanadium Project, Queensland’s highest grade deposit, to become Australia’s first fully integrated mining and renewable energy company. Vecco has recently launched its downstream business to provide 100% renewable energy to the agricultural, mining and industrial sectors using vanadium batteries.
